FINALLY!!! Marvin and I are so excited. We have been praying and fasting to hear from God about how to take our next adventure together. He has led us to create our own Direct Selling Co.

WOW!! We feel like we have experienced so many different businesses and companies and realize, all of these experiences lead us to this place. Our own company, with God as our CEO and our children as our inspiration and a desire and vision to deliver God's people from debt, financial bondage and into a life of freedom on whatever terms that means for them. Fall Festival

I am so excited, it is my favorite time of the year. I will be baking cookies with my children, learning new crafts and sharing with them and building my business.

I haven't unveiled it yet, but Mimi and Co., my daughter Miriams' business is in the making. Miriams' company has jewelry for little girls right now and we will be adding a little boys line.

The Silver Lining

Every cloud has a silver lining. Yesterday, my aunt, my moms' sister died unexpectedly. I should say unexpectedly to us but God always knows best, whether we see it or not.

I was really sad for alot of reasons but quickly realized, she has gone home to be with God, she will see her mom, her dad, her son, her aunts. She is made whole in God's perfect way and that is an amazing thing.

Don't just say you love someone, the bible says, " If your brother or sister crys, you cry, if he or she rejoice, then you rejoice with them. SHow love and be love.

So today, rejoice with me, that God is still on the throne, His son, Jesus made a way for us, that all might enter into His glory and for that I am grateful. Change your life today: Pray, read and believe: Romans 10:9. To God be the glory!

Marvin's Baubles

I have turned my attentions to adding a really great Men's Collection to my line, these handsome, beaded bracelets, are made with polymer clay beads, I designed.

These two belong to my hubby, he wears them and loves them.

Look for an upcoming article where I interviewed Marvin (my gorgeous husband), about his love affair with accessories and color and what men look for when they purchase accessories.

A Life Less Ordinary

I found out on Saturday, that two of my designs are going to be published in one of my all time favorite magazines. How did it happen?

I fasted, I prayed, I BELIEVED and then I sent an email to the Editor with five designs of my work and they chose two of those designs.
I was so excited, I could have passed out.

Anyone that knows me, either loves me or hates me. I live out loud, I live in technicolor, I know whose I am, which is a child of the Most High God and I don't try to hide it.

I believe that we can do anything we choose to do, if we set our minds to do so. I believe that no and can't are words that come from hell itself.

Be bold, be courageous, be prayerful, be patient and then just BE all that God has created you to be.

I have been called to excellence by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my work should reflect that. I am not an Art and Crafts person, I am a creator of Fine Art and my designs and pricing should reflect that.

Over the coming months, I pray that you will see the change and embrace the change of the new direction my work is taking.

This post is so late. I decided to spend the day with my children, Caleb, who is 5 and Miriam, who is 2. We went to Michael's to buy Polymer clay, did we need anymore? No.

But hey, at .99 who could resist.

I have so many ideas and I can't wait to get started.

These flowers are what are left from a plant on my front porch. I do not have a green thumb but you can't tell from the pic that they alone, like Jobs' servants, are left to tell the tell.

I am so excited, I will be attending a bead show in a couple of days and I can't wait.

I purchased the centerpiece bead on this necklace from the last bead show I attended and it actually does not have holes in it, so technically, I guess it is not a bead.

Anywho, I decided to glue a bail to it and create a pendant, I am so brilliant sometimes, and maybe a little vain.

I am going to take another picture of this bracelet on my arm.

It came out totally fantastic but I realize my tiles are way to big and need to be thinner as well as wider. However, I love the resuls of my first tile bracelet.

Have you ever created your own molds? I always intend to try new tips and tricks and every new tool known to the clay world.

However, that can get expensive and doesn't always leave room for much individuality.

These earrings and the centerpiece pendant were made with molds I created out of scrap clay and I think they came out so beautiful.

If you set-up at shows to sell your crafts, there is nothing more exciting than when you see 10 other jewelry designers, all with beads strung on wire or cording and then there is you. You have beads made and designed by you, unique shapes and materials.

Everyone flocks to your booth and all of your delightful little baubles sell-out. Ahh, life is good. I said all of that to say, "BE ORIGINAL, BE DIFFERENT AND TAP INTO YOUR OWN INNER MUSE".

All-American Swirls

I wanted to show you how great the hands of a 5 year old can be.

My children beg me to play with my clay and I tend to be so selfish with my supplies, to the point I have to repent and ask for forgiveness.

My 5 year old helped me to mix these colors and roll these into gorgeous beads.

Include your children in your art work, you will be amazed what they come up with. Hand crafts are on the rise and we need to encourage the next generation of crafters!

Instead of telling them to back away from the clay and no one gets hurt, let them play with the beautiful scrap clay that is left over, who knows what colors will emerge?

Finding My Own Way!

I sometimes wonder alot about whether or not people like the things I create or what other crafters, artists and bloggers things.

The truth is it doesn't matter what people think and I don't have to hold my designs, the good, the bad and the ugly to anyone elses standards.

Each of us has our own unique gift. We don't have to copy, re-do or attempt to remake what someone else has done or is doing.

Ecclesiastes says it best, " There is nothing new under the sun." I have paved my own road and mapped out my own journey, to those who love my work, "Rock ON", to those who don't, "Everything is not for everybody".

Beleive in yourself as God believes in each of us and FIND YOUR OWN WAY in all that you do!

Ocean Pearls

I guess you can tell by my last few posts, I am longing for the beach. My posts seems to be making reference to the ocean.

We only live a couple of hours from the North Carolina shore but the closer you are, the harder it seems to make it there.

The beads on these strands jumped into my bag at a Bead Wholesale show I attended, along with numerous other little baubles or should I say chunky baubles, yet awaiting their debut.

YEAH!!!! I am so excited. This is my first jewelry design item where I have written down formulas to create a color palette from my head. I came up with the name first, visulaized what I wanted it to look like and then it all just came together. God is so good.

Also, I have been harrassing one of my BFF's Angela Johnson, owner of Tarheel Angel, to get her designs up and going, so I had to "GET 'ER DONE".

My other BFF and my blood sister, Patrice is probably going to steal this from my wrist, so somehow I will have to make her one so she doesn't pose some sort of ominous threat.

North Carolina Sunset

"OMG!" As my sister says, it means, " Oh my gosh!" North Carolina has the most gorgeous sunsets. This shell pendant is actually made from the mold of a seashell my son Caleb picked up on the coast in Wilmington, NC. I begged him to let me have the shell and he said no so I had to settle for a copy. But what an amazingly, gorgeous copy it is, he can keep his little shell and I can wear my own taste of North Carolina. Now where's that BBQ?

Where I live and when I set up to sell at Arts and Crafts Shows, the main theme I always hear is, " Your jewelry and beads are so unique, colorful and different". Of course I always give God the credit because all gifts come from Him. Find your own creative voice, don't worry what it looks like and whether it is or isn't as good as someone elses work. Today I feel a little frazzled or like my 5 year old, Calebs' transformer "frenzy". I am working hard to prepare for a craft show I am participating in on Black Friday, i.e., the biggest shopping day of the year. I am excited. I have some new beads I finally had the courage to use/ It is so hard to use your best beads and then part with them but, oh well. I'll use any excuse to go to a beadshow, wholesale of course. =). Enjoy!

This bracelet was inspired by Adorn Magazine and Jennifer Perkins with the Naughty Secretary Club, she uses vintage, as well as, unlikely objects to create wearable adornmnets. I have been trying for years to define my fashion style or lack there of... =) I love retro. I can't sew at all but I can create lots and lots of jewelry at the speed of light and could care less whether or not my clothes match. I love kitsch! I looked in webster and asked my sister who is a PhD. and there was no definition. Of cousre the dictionary I am using is about 100 years old. =) Anywho, I have finally identified that I love eclectic, vintage and retro style clothing and jewelry and I love being me! I own my own jewelry company and have just this year begun to produce my own Bead and Crafts Shows. I am not always what I should be and sometimes am quick to get an attitude but I always self correct and get it together,hence, The Beautiful Champion Bracelet. On the other side of the tiles, the bracelet says Naughty President. Doesn't that hit the nail on the head about how as women we change and grow and can become anything we desire. Be your true you!

I mentioned it in my profile that I have a 5 year old, Caleb and a 1 year old, Miriam. The sun rises and sets on them. Well I mentioned them because Caleb helps me mix my clay as well as rolls beads. I love his beads because his hands are so little, he makes perfectly round beads. My baby girl on the other hand would rather eat the clay. I keep my clay under a cabinet in my kitchen so no light gets to it, which was a great idea until she figured out how to open the cabinet and decided she might want to taste my clay. I caught her before her little teeth made it through the wrapper. I decided that she is going to be my business critic! I make new stuff and if she likes it she will look at them and touch them and say CUTE, CUTE, CUTE. Does she have good tate or what? Or does she just know that mommy is a sucker for everything she does? I think it's the latter. Be blessed and have a creative day!

They were so easy to make, that I thought for sure they might be hard to match with something, but if course I just happened to have the perfect beads laying in wait for these clasps. These Toggle Clasps made from Polymer clay were a recommendation from one of my customers and fellow jewelry designer, Amanda Chason. She saw the work of Pottery Artist, Elaine Ray and thought that clasps done in polymer clay would be a great idea.
